About KONUN
KONUN does not restage the past. It asks what survived it — and sets a table around the answer, twenty-five people at a time.
The shape of a gathering never changes. What fills it always does.
A theme. A story, read aloud for the room. A dish, cooked properly. One object on the table. One question asked of everyone.
The dish is not the point. What is fixed is the ritual, and what the ritual produces — a record that did not exist before the evening and cannot be reconstructed from anywhere else.
Twenty-five people. Seats are requested, not bought — every attendance is confirmed individually, and a request is not a purchase.
Nobody is introduced by what they do for a living. This is deliberate. A room where people arrive as their job title produces a different evening than a room where they arrive as themselves.
What the room leaves behind.
Handwritten cards. Recorded voices, where the speaker asked for them to be recorded. Portraits, where the sitter asked to sit. Photographs of the room.
Nothing is taken. Everything is left.
Archive contributions are private by default and stay private unless their contributor decides otherwise. They are never sold as data. They are never used to train generative models. A contribution can be withdrawn from the KONUN archive at any time.
These are not preferences. They are the terms on which the archive exists at all.
KONUN is run by Reza Gheibi, a journalist and writer working in Persian, Turkish and English, based in London. He founded Taraz and runs Nexum House.
KONUN is not a supper club and not a cultural association. It is a house that produces gatherings and keeps what they leave behind.
A small number of partners can support a gathering. Support means the room gets better — a longer evening, a better table, a proper recording. It does not mean a logo on the wall, a speech, or a say in who sits down.
If that sounds like the wrong kind of partnership for you, it probably is. If it sounds like the right kind, write and say so.
