How we handle what you give us
KONUN is a small cultural house in London. For the purposes of UK data protection law the controller is Reza Gheibi, trading as KONUN. Write to hello@konun.co.uk.
When you request a seat: your name, your email address, and anything you choose to tell us. We use it to answer you, confirm attendance and run the gathering. Legal basis: performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering one.
Dietary requirements and access needs: if you tell us about an allergy, an intolerance or an access need, we pass only what is necessary to the venue and delete it within seven days of the gathering. Legal basis: your explicit consent, given when you tell us.
Payment: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
We photograph and film our gatherings and record audio of the story read aloud. This is how a gathering becomes a record. It is disclosed in the invitation, on the gathering page, and again on arrival.
Legal basis: our legitimate interests in documenting our own cultural work. We have carried out a written balancing assessment and keep it on file.
You can object at any time — before, during or after — and we will not photograph you, or we will remove you from what we publish. You do not need to give a reason.
Handwritten cards, recorded voices and portraits are separate, and none of them rest on legitimate interests. Each is given under your explicit written consent, recorded on the card itself, and you can withdraw it at any time by writing to us. We will remove it from the KONUN archive and from anything we publish afterwards. We cannot recall copies already printed or already distributed, and we will tell you plainly if that applies to yours.
Archive contributions are private by default. They are never sold as data and never used to train generative models. If we ever want to show a contribution publicly, we ask you again, specifically, at that time.
We publish one number per gathering: how many guests chose to leave something for the archive. No name and no contribution is shown, and the number cannot be traced back to any individual. If you withdraw your contribution, that number goes down.
Seat requests that did not lead to attendance: 12 months. Attendance and booking records: 6 years, for UK tax and accounting. Dietary and access notes: deleted within 7 days of the gathering. Photographs, film, audio and archive contributions: kept as a record, unless you ask us to remove them.
Our website host, our email provider, our payment processor, and the venue for the gathering you are attending — and the venue receives only what it needs to serve you. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or withdraw consent where consent is the basis. Write to us and we will answer within one month.

This site uses no tracking or advertising cookies. Where a gathering page carries an embedded film, that film loads nothing and sets nothing until you click to play it.
